I have no experience with ASRock mobos. I own modern systems with both Gigabyte(Z97MX-Gaming 5 Micro ATX) and MSI(Z87Xpower). I much prefer the bios of the MSI board. Features that matter to you(color, audio, slot setup and pcie splitting, lan, fan headers, and whatever else you can think of), price, buyer ratings, all should guide your decision, but don't don't forget the bios. Simply put, the msi bios has much better capability with on board fan control. I have a boatload of loud and expensive fans that need taming and the msi board gives you great flexibility. If noise isn't a concern, or you don't run high speed/noisy fans, then I can say Gigabyte makes a nice board. I can't comment on the ASRock boards.
