I will be using a x99 motherboard and I will overclock. I was going to take the custom route but I heard that custom loop can leak and it might cause the pc to be broken, so im not sure. If im going the aio route, I will use a corsair gtx. Which option should I choose? Help!

P.S. I also upgrade frequently.

If you upgrade frequently and you're willing to put down the dough for the X99 platform, I'd recommend going for the custom loop. If you get quality components (I love XSPC. Their Photon tube res's are awesome), and run the loop for a good 24 hours after you have built it with no issues, you're all set to go! It's really expandable and looks amazing, not to say that the new H100i and H80i's look pretty good. Custom cooling seems scary, but after you get the parts and put them together, it becomes really easy. Just don't start out with the rigid tubes. If you're looking for a good site for custom liquid cooling, try performance-pcs.com

This has always been my overall take on custom cooling configurations.

I've never put out the cash to do a custom loop for any of my personal towers, for multiple reasons. I have however done three set-ups for customers over the last four years, and have first hand seen the benefits, or lack there of.

Will a well put together and maintained custom loop perform better? Yes. Is it at all cost effective? Not at all. Unless you're a record overclocker, or just simply have the money to go towards things that aren't extremely purposeful, then a custom water cooling solution is not for you.
