Black screen while installing AMD Catalyst

I recently built a new pc and need to install the AMD drivers for my R9 290x. Half way through the install my screen flickers and goes black. Does this supposed to happen?

well,when installing graphic drive half way will screen flicker and goes black then come back normal,is normal because the driver restart it self.

After about 3 minutes all of the fans start spinning hard. Sounds as if it were a vacuum and it disconnects from the display
