Hi everyone,
I recently migrated my hdd to ssd in my dell xps 8700 using acronis true image hd. I had a few problems however eventually got them sorted using a bootable usb with recovery media on it. Now whenever I try to boot up either device in UEFI boot mode it jus comes up saying that you device needs to be repaired and that it cant recognise that any devices are there. However when I boot up in legacy boot mode Its just fine. As far as im aware when I didn't have my SSD I was booting from UEFI however now it wont. Am I ok to keep booting from legacy or should I be using UEFI. If I should then can someone please tell me how to fix it. Thanks in advance!

If you have a UEFI and SSD its better to use that. Legacy mode is old and mainly for old drives.
It wont really hurt staying at legacy mode, but honestly, going from an HDD to an SSD its always better to just reinstall the OS. These migration programs are just bandaids.
If you want to change it to UEFI mode permanently you have to reinstall your OS, booting into the install over the UEFI. If you use a CD, USB stick or something without booting into UEFI and from there into the setup of your OS install, it will again install in legacy mode. Also dont forget to turn AHCI on.
