Hello, I have this issue with my 2x4gb kit (CMD8GX3M2B2133C9), if I set XMP or set the speed and timings manually I'll get sooner or later a freeze/bsod, so now I'm running them at 1866mhz at stock timings (9-11-11-31-2n), and I need some help/advice to get them running at full speed.
The build is a week old (all brand new components) and other specs/tweaks are as follows:
i7 4790K @ 4.7ghz (100 bclk x 47, vcore 1.30)
DRAM voltage 1.66
SA 0.250
VTTDDR 0.800

In the DIGI+PowerControl of the mobo, a Sabertooth Mark 1, I set Dram Power Phase Control to Extreme, Dram Switching Freq to 400, Dram current capability to 130%

Any suggestion would be really appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hello, haven't been lucky, I bumped the DRAM voltage to 1.70 but after 24h got a freeze, then reduced the speed to 2000 and another crash, now it's @ 1866mhz and seems stable (always stock timings).. from the reviews you posted I guess that upping the voltage more than I already did is not safe and wouldn't make a difference... do you have other tips that could help me, or it could just be a not so good chip? Thanks in advance

I think I'd probably reset the bios to optimal default settings by choosing that option in the bios or by removing the cmos battery and reinstalling, and then try the XMP profile that matches your modules specifications again. A Sabertooth Mark1 with a 4790k should easily be capable of running those 2133mhz modules. Be aware there is generally more than one XMP profile and they're different speeds and timings in most cases.

If they won't run after resetting to defaults, setting XMP and then providing a small voltage bump of one or two increments using the + key with that field selected, then it's possible there is simply a problem with the memory or you have a weak memory controller on your CPU. Tradesman1, our resident memory expert who is also a moderator would probably be able to easily walk you through this better than I.

Thank you both for the tips, I set that VTTDDR and also set the CPU Analog/Digital I/O voltage offset to +0.15 (I read somewhere, correct me if I'm wrong, that can help with overclocking the memory).. If it won't work I'll reset the bios and try again with the XMP (that by the way is just single on those sticks), thanks again
