I need help, i am thinking of buying a monitor that i can use as a primary screen with my laptop ( meaning that i will connect the monitor to my latop with HDMI and then turn my laptops screen off). What I would like to know is that even if the screen is off on the laptop, will it affect the graphical performance due to the graphics card having to work dubble?

Also i have a nvidia geforce gt 820m. And also dont worrry about resolutions because i my laptop monitor is a 1366x768 resolution and the monitor im looking at has the same resolution.

Help will be much apreciated, Thanks

If it has the same resolution it will most likely be the same or worse but won't be noticable. It doesn't have to work double if you turn off laptop screen like you said.
