Windows10 has made games unplayable, even after downgrade.

Hi all,
I have an Msi gaming laptop (8gb ram, 960m, i7 4720HQ) and I recently "upgraded" it to Windows 10. After the upgrade I noticed that my games were now unplayable(primarily Arma 3) and I was getting 6-8fps. I installed all the latest drivers via GeForce experience and after preforming various troubleshoots, I decided to revert back to Windows 8.1. I still am getting the same issue and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers etc. The only games I can play now are old ones like Mirror's Edge and Company of Heroes, where I still only get 15-25fps. Please note also, changing graphical settings does not affect the fps performance at all. If any one has encountered this problem and may have a solution I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Rusty.

Did you check the graphical settings within the nVidia driver?

Try doing a CHKDSK C: /R (google it)
(Your computer may be busy attempting to read data that is bad/inaccessible.)

If that doesn't work I'd backup my stuff and format the C drive.
I had to downgrade as well for a different reason. But if you still have the issue after the drive has been formatted then you've likely got a hardware issue in which case I'd call msi.

This type of issue is why I wont upgrade my gaming build for a few months. A new OS always has issues and when I have the time/desire to game I dont want to be faffing around fixing problems.

As suggested I would opt for the backup, format and clean install of 8.1
