Hey,

I have recently upgraded my ram from 2x4gb to 4x4gb.

A few weeks later (now) when i restarted my pc after reinstalling windows 10, it didn't start up because of 3 continues beeps.

(long beep) (long beep) (long beep) (pause) (repeat)

Found out it was a ram error and started expirementing with the ram, turns out all 4 ram works perfect solo, even with 2x4gb it works fine, but when I insert the third stick it doesn't show anything and sometimes it beeps.

I did try resetting my CMOS, updating my bios.

CPU: fx-6300
Ram: Kingston HyperX Fury 1866mhz 4gb (tried to downclocked to 1600)
Mobo: Asrock 970 pro3 r2.0

Why this is a priority is because this was a server, server is currently running on a set of Pi's

Solution
Are they all the same brand/model of Fury? two sets of sticks? if so, start with one set of 2 sticks go into BIOS and change voltages as mentioned, save, exit, shut down - add the other two sticks and give it a try

They are exactly the same, just bought on a different time.

So the other two sticks to be added later don't need bios change seperatly. I will try when I can in a few hours.

Whaaat, how does this make this work?

Thanks a lot! Like seriously I thought my cpu died after overclocking it.

Voltage increases? Lot's and lots and lots of practice and working with different mobos, CPUs and sets of DRAM....Whenever I get a rig in for repairs, upgrades, etc....if time permits I like to try other components (mainly DRAM and GPUs) to see how they interact. Here on the forums I try to give what I think good increases and depending sometimes on the conservative side. Other times if user sounds in hurry or I know my schedule will be keeping me away for awhile I might go on the higher (but safe) side, as we can always lower things incrementally if stable.
