Well...what a day... Not only I had discovered that I had been robbed but my pc today acted all wacky; I turned it on today and it took it some time before going through the POST (20 seconds as opposed to instantly beeping as usual) i ignored that and sometime later I set it to sleep mode and later on it simply wouldn't start. Further attempts showed that there was no beeping sound. troubleshooting led me to the removal of the ram to check if it was the source of the problem. A constant beeping sound ruled that out,but when I inserted them back my pc gave off a pattern of 1 long beep and 2 short ones which meant RAM issues! Now from what I checked other components seemed to work, judging from the CPU,GPU,PSU fans as they seem to function at normal speed as usual.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Get a flashlight and check in the memory slot for dust : it happened to me a few times.

If it's clean, run memtest86 to rules out damaged memory or memory slot.
you can also try one stick to see if problem persist will all ram stick.

What power supply and how old is it?
Can you detail us your computer specs please.

After further testing I believe there's indeed something wrong with my psu;
Yesterday my pc couldn't even start, and today I disconnected everything and it actually started working. Passed the POST test as usual. What's even weirder is that it couldn't use the both the mouse and the keyboard but only either one of them. So I'm guessing either power supply or mobo issue:

My psu is a 220w liteon on a microATX mobo. Despite the upgrades the whole rig doesn't go over 180w output.
However my pc is over 4 years old.
