I need help with my power supply, I am planning on getting a 9590 cpu, and 2 crossfire 390's with a ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z. My ram is G.SKILL TridentX Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400. I just need to know how much wattage and I'd anyone knows of a red psu that could work to match my build. Thanks

That is not a great build, especially the CPU and some other parts, It is imbalanced and I would not buy this, I would say just give me a budget and i will put an entire system together for you. Do you need OS/monitor/peripherals?

Before i put together a build for you ill tell you what is wrong with yours

The 9590 is just bad, specs on paper mean almost nothing when comparing two CPUs here is a comparison
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vB1jKNp1Uo The 6700k will cost about the same after you take into account the MOBO and cooler cost
It consumes so much power and requires a really good motherboard to run
It requires a massive cooler to keep it within a decent temperature
And it is not even close to equivalently priced intel CPUs as far as performance

32gb of ram is not CLOSE to necessary for gaming, 8gb is plenty and 16gb is overkill, More ram does not increase performance, I have 16gb of ram and i am not sure if my build has ever utilised more than 10gb of it.

A 980ti would be much better than 390s in crossfire as it would not have problems with crossfire and scaling and it would be WAY more efficient.

I could just do a better build for the same price.

I can't stand Nvidia gpus, I have had the worst luck with them and just don't like them, is there any way I could use 2 r9 390s? Plus they aren't even running with windows 10 rn

The experience you may have had with nvidia GPUs is probably very rare, in fact AMD is more well known for having bugs, running hot, and failing. They are both great manufacturers but nvidia is probably more reliable so i doubt your experience will be the same.

And you should not start off buying sli or crossfire, you will have bugs and it will consume so much power

If you want to put an OS in there just take out the ssd or lower the CPU cooler to a cryorig h7 and save overclocking for later if you like.

I don't like the Nvidia drivers or control program, I wanna stick with amd. I've always liked amd the 390 was coming in higher than the Nvidia price equivalent and in crossfire was just as good as a titan x for about half the price

the 980ti is better than a titan x for gaming and the crossfired 390s are a bit better than a 980ti as far as performance but not in all games, and you will not even be eble to run CF in some games, it will cause microstutter, and it will run VERY hot and it will consume LOADS of power and it is just never recommended to start in SLI or crossfire.

I derped for a moment when picking the PSU, you should probably get something like this and it could even support sli 980ti's

And i have never heard of people complaining about nvidia drivers as they are usually released more often and there is more support but if you REALLY want to go with CF 390s then you can.

I am not a fanboy and actually readily recommend the r9 390 over the gtx 970 but i would not recommend either of these cards in CF or sli over a 980ti, It is just a bit silly.

Just ask google and see if a single person recommends CF 390s over a 980ti, or anyone who says AMD cards are more reliable or have better drivers.

Trust me, i'm not a fanboy, There honestly isn't a huge difference between the two as far as drivers and reliability goes but a 980ti is just better.

You don't have to take my advice but you will thank me later.

Actually i didn't think of it before but you can get an r9 fury x which is about equal to a 980ti and MUCH more recommended than dual 390s.

The fury x is about as good as a 980ti and it is the AMD equivalent.

This build will save you A LOT on your power bill and be much less problematic, as well as fully water cooled :D

Here you go This is the build i would recommend for AMD.
