upgrading my rig

would like to seek some advice, would my current rig be able to support a gtx 970 g1 gaming gpu ? . Thanks in advance !

Intel Core i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz
MOBO - ASRock Z77 Extremem 4
2x4GB RAM Corsair Vengence 1600
Nvidia 9600GT 512MB GDDR3
Seasonic 520Watt PSU
250GB Evo 850 Samsung SSD

The 750ti is a big step down from a 970. I'd either hold out for the 970 or if you'd like an upgrade now consider a gtx 960. It's around $170-185 so not too much more than the 750ti. ($185 is for the evga super sc edition of the 960).

Have a look at the tabs on this site as they have a few games benchmarks. In many the 750ti is struggling even at 1080 unless you really turn down the settings while the 960 can handle 1080p at high/ultra at playable frames.

thanks for the input ! i'd probably wait a little before i upgrade to the gtx970 as it's pricer. would a gtx750ti which i'm able to buy at $140 be able to play current titles on medium settings at 1080p ?
