Hi I have a pc that is losing connection with my display after the bios screen I've tried everything I can think of and still nothing. These are my specs: intel 4790k liquid cooled, 16gb corsair ram, asus gtx 980 strix, 1000w psu, asus maximus hero V11 mobo.
Display loses signal. Help

The signal might be out-of-range for the monitor. Any chance the video settings might be too high? Do you have another monitor to test with?
The monitor is 4k and has worked great for three months I have no other monitor. However one thing I tried was connect hdmi to the on board chipset and it worked fine then till I tried to shut down then I get an error msg saying windows ran into a problem and needs to reboot. However it will reboot and still I can't shut down if I try I get the same error

What is the exact error message? Anything in the 'event viewer' that corresponds to the time of a shut-down?
Your pc has encountered a problem and needs to restart just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. It does then restart after a loading bar and then boots up again however if I try to shut down it happens again and again.

Will it start properly in Safe Mode? (holding F8 from boot)

If it will I'd guess it's driver related.

I have seen the login in a few times but it loses connection before I can log in. Other times I doesn't even go that far. However as a said before plugging the hdmi into the mobo outlet makes it all the way and seems to work good exept for then I can't shut down.
When I try to shut down,( your pc has encountered a problem and needs to restart collecting some error info and we'll restart for you.) Pops up,it then loads and restarts the next time I try to shut down the same thing happens, I've done that 6 times now

If you can't enter the bios you can reset the CMOS data (usually a switch or jumper) and reboot. You will loose some settings (data/time/customisations) but you should be able to enter the bios.
