Removing or reapplying thermal paste on unused CPU/Motherboard.

Going to make it simple.

I was building a PC this past week and I had done everything including putting Liquid cooling system that came Pre-applied with Thermal paste. So I tried to turn on PC and after configuring why it wouldn't turn on, it seemed to be that the motherboard was DOA.

I took off the Liquid cooling system that came pre-applied with thermal paste but it had no signs of wear. Not even a single mark of paste on CPU. As soon as I took off the Liquid cooling system I put the plastic cap on it as it came out of the box so it would stay concealed.

My question is, when new motherboard arrives what should I do? Should I remove the paste from that Liquid cooling system and reapply on CPU? Or leave it just the way it is?

I am guessing I should check whether if the paste had dried out or not? Right?

Liquid cooling system is Corsair Hydro 105

Thanks in advance for the help!

Well, I'd clean up the paste left in the H105, then apply it in your processor just before mounting your H105 once again. Not much mistery with thermal paste, just remove it whenever you dismount the cooling system and reapply in the processor to mount ir again. Just remember not to put too much or too little, and the dot in the middle of the processor is the best/safer method IMO.

Okay, It's just that I've never done it so I was just kind of afraid to even go that far. I figured since I was able to cover up the paste with the plastic cover it may've not gone bad but I'll be sure to remove it and put a little pea size on the CPU instead when new MOBO arrives

Yea don't worry, you can find plenty of "guides" and methods of application in google/youtube, but I recommend testing by yourself, at least for the first time, like I did. Apply it, mount the cooling system, wait a bit for it to stabilize, remove the cooling system then see if that was good enough or too much/too little, then remove it all, apply the paste again and mount the cooler. This should give you a good idea of how much you should apply, as each paste has it's own density, so the amount can vary from eachother.
