My PC shuts down randomly while gaming

Ok so, a few weeks back I had this problem, then it went away. I assumed it was just some software issues or perhaps a outdated driver. Now it is happening again. I did what anyone else would do. I rerouted my cables for best airflow, bump up case fan rpms, and checked temps if anything was overheating. I deeply researched and reliezed that the normal tempature for a gpu is around 70 or 80 ( Maybe not ?). But here are my specs so you will understand next part :

CPU : AMD FX 8350
GPU : EVGA GTX 970 SC
MB : ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
RAM 8GB ADATA XPG V2 DDR3
CASE : Phanteks Enthoo Pro
CPU Cooler : Corsair H100
PSU : I honestly dont know exact brand but its 550w

Ok so here is what my honest opinion is, and I want to know if I am wrong or if I am right. While gaming, I can do so for about 20-30 mins ( Depends on game really). And suddenly my screens go black and read "No input signal" and the audio completely spams making a unexplainable noise. I think it might be the GPU overheating ? I read on Nvidias help page that their GPUs will shut down if it gets crazy with heat.
But I set the fan speeds to go 70% at about 80c and full throttle at 90c. If my GPU is dying im gonna be pretty pissed cause its decently new, and I take care of it (I know I might be overlooking it but still). Perhaps its my PSU, I dont know. If it is my GPU, should I set the fan curve higher, or should I invest in a water cooler ( I am financially capable of buying one if that's what its gonna take ).

Solution

That's a 420W PSU being sold by its peak 520W power rating. The OEM is Huntkey. Low end trash.

You're exceeding one or more of the PSU's limits and triggering one of the PSU's protection circuits.

This could be a PSU problem. You need to find out what brand it is. Just because it says 550Watts doesn't mean it delivers 550Watts. The 12v rail Wattage matters. Some 550Watt PUS's don't deliver more than 450Watts on the 12v rail.

I actually am wrong. The exact brand is Dynex ATX 520 Watt . I bought it from BestBuy, so yea.

So, defiently invest in a better PSU. Cool. Would a 750w PSU be sufficent ? If you have a recommendation feel free to say so. Anything under or a little or $100 will be good. Thank you :)
