hello

when i oc an i5 750 to 3.20 GHZ
is is than powerful to play many 3d games
and what a graphics crad can i buy with the cpu

Hi,

overclocking your cpu will help but it depends what game you play.

Most 2014-2015 games will need your cpu to be between 3.4 - 4.0 ghz and paired with a good graphic card to be able to play on high resolution 1080.

But then again it depends what games you want to play.

the i5 750 is good enough for pretty much all games on the market today, instead of upgrading your CPU, aim for a nice jucy graphics card, good bang for buck right now is the AMD R9 380, and perhaps think about getting a more powerful power supply to fuel it :)

Lynnfield i5s are still okay for gaming, but do not pair a high end GPU with them without a hefty overclock. The R9 380 or GTX 960 are about as high as I would go with that CPU, anything faster is going to be bottlenecked at 3.2 GHz, or even 3.5GHz. If you want to get something like the GTX 970 or R9 390, then you're going to have to try for a 4GHz overclock, and even then you'd probably still hit a bit of a bottleneck on the more CPU heavy titles out there eg. Grand Theft Auto V.
