Hello,

I recently purchased a HP Elite 8000 SFF system from Newegg. Now I'm looking to upgrade my integrated GMA 4500 card. I have searching around and have found 3 options that I read should work.

- Radeon R7 240 1GB/2GB Low Profile
- Gigabyte Geforce GTX 750 Ti Low Profile
- Zotac Geforce GTX 750 1GB GDDR5 Low Profile

Now here are my PC specs :

- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz
- 4Gb DDR3 Ram
- Windows 7 64-Bit Pro
- 1TB HDD
- 240 PSU *NOT Up-gradable*

Here's the easy part ( I hope ) I'm only looking to play Sims 3 base game and RCT3. But if those cards above work for more games I will gladly play them. The more demanding games ex. GTA 5, Watch Dogs etc, I will play on my PS3.

Thanks!

PS: I have a 1920x1080p monitor BUT I am extremely okay with lowering the res to 1600x900 or a little lower. Also I'm pretty sure the cards above will run Sims 3 fine knowing that they should be compatible.

Okay thank you. Do you think the 720 will be able to play Sims 3 Base game only?

I found this :
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-720/buy-gpu

Is this the correct card to get? It looks like it should work. If so which one should I buy? 2GB or 1GB? EVGA , Zotac etc?

Hi everyone. I decided to order the Nvidia Gt 720 1GB off of Amazon. I checked online and it surpasses the minimum requirements for Sims 3. I'll try to come back and tell how it's performing. Thanks

EDIT 8/23/15: Been using the GT 720 for a couple of days now and it's working flawlessly for my needs/wants! Hopefully it lasts for months or even years to come! Thanks everyone!

Hi,

I also have a HP Elite 8000 SFF system. Currently installed a Asus GT630-SL-2GD3-L graphics card and it works great.
I saw your reply to this poster and i was wondering if you can answer my question.

On the Asus site https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/GT630SL2GD3L/ you can find the following statement:

Power Consumption : up to 75W no additional PCIe power required

Since i'm running this card in my HP Elite 8000 SFF system how do i have to interpret this? The PCI slot just 'blocks' anything above 25W and limiting the card's permormance or something or should it not work at all? I can't draw a clear line between the actual wattage delivered to the PCI slot and the actual usage of the card...hope you can explain for me how it works because i feel i'm missing somthing.

Thanks in advance

I agree to what americanbrian states. I have the same HP Elite 8000 SFF system as the topic starter and i am currently running a Asus GT630-SL-2GD3-L and it has been working fine for over 1,5 years. It actually draws more power (max 75 watts as in compliance to PCIe standard) in operation than the GTX750Ti (low profile). Some manufacturers/companies that deliver the GTX750Ti have a minimum PSU requirement of 400W and some 300W. I think topic starter can go ahead and buy a version with a 300W minimum PSU requirement and be just fine, that's what i am planning to do for my HP Elite 8000 SFF system.
