Hi,

I would say with the generation we are in, dell has descent laptop. Most of the time, the HD fails first.
Best bang for buck are Asus laptop.

IBM's and lenovos are ok.

I would stay away from acer, hp, gateway and toshiba.

Toshiba has bad quality control and so many has problems within the first weeks and has to be RMA.
Also I had most problem with technical support with toshiba.
Acer usually fails after warranty has expired.

Acer, hp, gateway and toshiba usually has bad thermal paste and heats up quickly.
But it's a case per case problematics.
Sometimes you get a good laptop , sometimes it's a lemon.

One thing to consider it the warranty. If you can get one with more than a year warranty; usually it's a good sigh.

asus with same configuration as this dell is only 65 euros. it is asus f555ln-dm102d. is it better quality than this dell?
