I have just gathered the products for building my PC that will be used for some maximum graphic free-to-plays FPS's on Steam, while possibly recording. I am going over my budget though and maybe you guys could help me out in cutting down costs. If you can, could you also double-check I got all the compatibility right (DDR4 RAM, Motherboard sockets, etc.) One thing: The graphics card is staying. It is staying right at 4GB VRAM. If you guys could suggest better sites to buy it on, or something cheaper with similar features, please do tell me. I'm sorry if I'm a noob, this is my first custom build and I'm kind suck at this (I'm only 14 so please go easy!) Here are my possible specs. As well, if you guys could reccomend me a good but under $60 keyboard or keyboard and mouse combo that is Razor, that would be great!

EDIT 2: I have decided on this which is a little over budget. I AM keeping the processor and GPU and am just looking for a cheaper motherboard, HDD, etc

Xeons do have their uses outside of a server environment. They can be used on standard consumer grade motherboards. I recommended a build a couple of posts back that met all these requirements, we're just going around in circles now here.

You would seriously pair a 5930K and GTX 970 with a Corsair CX430? I would absolutely advise against that. You don't need six cores and 32GB of RAM for gaming, either, that stuff is currently a waste of money at the moment. You should also buy an SSD if you're spending that kind of money on a rig.

This is a much better build for the price:

Sorry, but I would really like not to go over $1200 even if that means sacrificing a couple things. You seem to be knowledgeable, is anything else?

Under 1200, then this is an option. Although really, the 4790K and 16GB RAM is excessive.

I may get 8GB ram instead and could you try to bring the processor up to 5th or 6th gen, keeping the graphics not integrated and 4 or 6 cores? And my god you guys work fast!

The two drives are intentional, it's actually cheaper to get 2x WD Caviar Blue 1TB than it is to get 1x WD Black 2TB drive. Obviously you could eliminate one, if you wanted to.

Oh didn't see budget. But yeah that is a bit overkill.

Here's a Skylake build that is a bit more affordable:

I'm liking it except for the integrated graphics and it's an i5. Maybe keep the same thing just with a 6th gen i7 overclocked? Can you reccomend a good motherboard and RAM for something like that?

So you would seriously spend $600 on a CPU to avoid it having integrated graphics? Either you have overclocking + integrated graphics, or you don't. I have two rigs, both have the iGPU disabled. It's not that difficult to do, and if you need it in case something goes wrong with your GPU, it's there.

Yeah, but that's more of a server processor. Let me just revise everything: I need the SAME graphics card, and a processor that is an 5 or 6th generation i7 unlocked only. It can be anything, as long as it meets the standards and is at least 3.5 gh

Yeah I know, the iGPU is disabled 99% of the time, and pretty much all motherboards now except for a few X99 ones have the iGPU display connectors. I personally don't think having it matters at all. Paying extra so you don't have it is just... wrong. Flat out wrong.

Which build was that? I don't remember any being i5 or i7 5th or 6th gen unlocked or any part list coming with it

I'll post it again - the i5-6600K is the new generation i5:

For now, maybe, although some titles DO show much better performance with that exact configuration, but I REALLY don't think that for the next two generations of games that we're going to be saying that. I expect that in another year the demands of AAA titles are going to be fully using a system like the 4790k and 16GB of RAM. That's only an expectation, but if you look back in two year blocks, resource demands have increased historically in a similar fashion when it comes to meeting high end expectations.

I'm still curious about the integrated graphics thing - this is literally the first time I've ever seen a possible builder actually consider *not* having it exist on the CPU as a serious issue. Which makes me wonder if the original poster is not quite getting something, which makes me a little wary of making a build suggestion since I'm not sure I'd be filling their needs.
