I purchased 32 gb of trident g. Skill ram, I was using it one day and realized I wasn't even touching half of it ever... so... I did some research and discovered that your timing goes up the more ram you have.... is this true? I downgraded my ram to 16, and it's been that way for a while.... but I wonder if someone could explain why that is if it's true.

Generally No, not sure what set of Tri's you have, but the 2400 set is CL10 (they had a CL11 set also), but they use the same timings in the 16GB set as well as a single 8GB stick. Where CL goes up is as you go to higher data rates, i.e. the Tri's start at 1600/7 then 1866/8, 2133/9 2400/10, 2666/11 etc and the CL remains the same whether 16GB or 32GB. Additionally even though the CL goes up, the additional bandwidth overcomes the higher CL so you still see a performance increase as you go up each step

I did have another question if u don't mind...
Another thing I have heard is that the memory controllers in amd boards aren't that great...
In addition ddr4 as near as I can tell won't work in any amd boards... Is there a mod I can use you get any better preformace out of my ram... I am very attached to amd... I find it is much more user friendly then intel.

Intel's memory controllers have consistently outperformed AMD's memory controllers for many years. I'd rather not go into the gritty details of scheduling, state tracking, page tracking, interleaving, timing, etc... but it's pretty well established that modern Intel microprocessors can easily keep DDR3-2133/DDR4-2133 channels busy nearly 100% of the time even when looser timings are in use.

I did say i was aware of that fact, i was interested in maybe a mobo mod. Or maybe a prototype ddr4 ram dim amd mobo... does this no mobo mods then?
I know Intel is better by a landslide... it kills me how greedy they are... amd mobos are backwards compatible all over the place. Intel tend to change socket types rather frequently, and usually that means trashing your board to upgrade.

What you can try would be to increase DRAM and MC vol6tage and try tightening the timings for better performance. As far as DDR4, it's not going to work with current AMD hardware, and no real way of telling when they will jump into the mix with a CPU or APU that is compatible with DDR4. The just haven't really showed any advances, CPU wise, their APUs have a better MC than say the FX CPUs, which are native to 1333, regardless of all the hype you hear about the FX being native 1866 - you won't hear that direct from AMD, they hold to saying that FX CPUs can run 'up to 1866, at 1 DIMM per channel', they also don't mention the 'testing' for this was with 4GB sticks ;)
