Hi, this is my first time posting on Tom's so sorry if this is really bad :D

When i was younger, my parents got me a gaming PC, but about 4 years have passed, and its just not cutting it. Right now, i will get around 20-30 FPS at 1080p on minimum graphics on BF4, in the training ground. It is unplayable on multiplayer. Most games i play, i will be lucky if i get 30 FPS on minimum graphics. I really want to start a Youtube channel, and start streaming on Twitch, but i cant with this computer (i get 10 FPS recording Minecraft on lowest settings).

My PC specs are:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 @3.40GHz
GPU: Radeon HD 5670 Sapphire 1GB GDDR5
RAM: 16GB (I will get better details soon)
MOBO: (this is what it says on the box) Asus M4A79XTD EVO
PSU: CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 550W
CASE: NZXT Hades Crafted Series HADE-001BK Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower

My Keyboard, Mouse, Screen etc.
MOUSE: GX GAMING GILA
KEYBOARD: Some staples keyboard my friend gave me after i spilt water on my Roccat Isku
SCREEN: Gateway FHX2402L BID 24" LED Monitor
HEADPHONES: Corsair Vengeance 1500

So as you can see, some parts of my computer are not the best. So what im asking, is if i should sell it and buy a whole new computer? or just get upgrades. I will want it to be affordable, (i dont have exact budget yet) and be able to run games at 1080p at 60FPS whilst recording, on around medium - high graphics. Same with Twitch streaming. I will want the GPU to be Nvidia (for Shadowplay recording), and the CPU to be Intel (unless there is a really good reason). Also, i will want 2 monitors, so any suggestions on a second? I will need a new keyboard as well. I will also like to ditch the GX GILA because it has that stupid mouse sensitivity button ontop of it, and i keep pressing it when im playing games. Also, would i need a new headset with a better mic? I don't really know how good the quality is on mine. Also, would Shadowplay be a smart choice? or would i be better off with Dxtory. I dont really want to buy a capture card, because they are just so expensive. The same friend who gave me the replacement keyboard also gave me his old GPU to see if it was better than mine, but it wasn't. He still let me keep it though. It's a XFX GeForce GTX 285 GX285NZDFF 1GB 512-Bit GDDR3. VERY old. Also, if i would be replacing the case, look for one that has very good air flow, is cheap, and looks nice.

Well, sorry for this probably horrible post, and thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for advice! :D

Okay I suggest selling. The Phenom won't cut it, and that board doesn't support the latest CPUs.

We'll need a concrete budget to work on a new build. Also will you need to be buying monitors? For a PC that can do what you ask, you'd need around $600-$650 at least on the PC itself alone.

Would i be able to even sell some of the parts? They are pretty old, and idk if old parts would even sell. If they would, how much do you think i would get for them?

Ok, so i dont have a concrete budget yet, but i was just wondering what are the most important things i will need to upgrade. Im guessing just my GPU, CPU, MOBO, and maybe RAM? What do you think that the minimum i would need be? Also i will like to keep it Nvidia and Intel for GPU and CPU. Reason im asking is, something happened, that will cost a lot of money, so i might not be getting as much as i hoped. Selling my CPU, MOBO, and my 2 GPUs will probably cover the cost for the GPU.

I will probably only be able to upgrade a few things, and it seems like it would be GPU, CPU, MOBO, and RAM? What ever im getting new of, i will sell the older version.

Ok, what i was thinking, was getting an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970, and a i5-4690k.
Any suggestions for a MOBO and PSU? Also, do you think i will need some more RAM?
So if i sell my CPU and both GPUs and buy a 970 and i5, it will cost around $452 CAD.
My budget will probably be around $600 CAD, so any suggestions on some cheap MOBO and PSU?
I will probably be able to sell my MOBO on ebay for around 90-100 CAD (thats what other people are selling it for), and my PSU for about 20-40 CAD.
For selling my parts, i was just using what people were selling them used on ebay.
Sorry if im really bad at communicating with you xD
Thanks for all your trouble :)

Ok, so the 970 and i5 with this MOBO and PSU?
I asked the RAM question, because my dad is a video editor, and his work PC has 64 gb of ram o_O and i thought that if i was gonna be editing, i will need more ram for rendering and stuff.

Thanks so much dude! You've been a great help! :)

Anything you recommend for future upgrades? Would my case be fine? I may get a 1TB HHD, for recordings, because i heard that if you are recording the videos into the same hardrive as the games, it will be slower. Also, videos are super high memory. Or should i just get some more RAM ;)

As long as you like the case it is fine - I always say that you have to look at it all day not us, so choose one that you like :)

If you can do get more HDD space, especially if you're recording. My HDD filled up real quick because of that, but then again I don't delete any footage haha. Recording to the same drive as you're playing the game from isn't bad and doesn't lower performance.

Remember to keep backups - maybe not of videos but of personal documents, photos and videos. If a HDD dies you have to pay to get data recovered!

Okie! If i get some more stuff later on, it will probably be a HHD, and new mouse/keyboard and stuff.
Thanks again for all your help!
