Solution
Do not go with the Corsair CX series power supply. It's a poor choice. Tier 4 with crappy caps and is unlikely to last long in a gaming or overclocking machine.

You want something Tier 1 or Tier 2 to use with that GTX 970, or any gaming card for that matter. Tier 3 and 4 units are not acceptable choices.

Any of the FX Zambezi chips that are compatible with your 970 socket motherboard will be compatible with the GTX 970 but you may run into a bottleneck situation with highly CPU intensive game titles. It will work fine though for most usage.
