Hey guys
I have bought a r9 270x 2 GB edition from sapphire last year. I need a upgrade and the 970 looks like a good one. All the other parts of my system is fine. 4th gen i5 4670k OC, 8 gigs of ram, 1 tb of storage and a ssd for boot. A 500 watt psu need upgrading if I am to get the 970. Thats the deciding factor. I am planning to get my gpu during cyber Monday this year so I need to know if the 270x is a better buy or the 970 is. Thanks!

Please note that i CURRENTLY have a 270x.

Solution
970 mate over a 270x cf setup easily.

You are aware most standard 970's use less or the same power as a 270x ?

A 500w PSU,if decent quality,is fine

The GTX 970. You should always choose a single higher-end card over two mid-range ones.

A high-quality 400-450W PSU could handle that setup without issue, but a 500W unit would leave plenty of breathing room for any additional devices and accessories.
