Cant Change Graphics Card to GTX 860M

i recently bought the lenovo y50. i updated the drivers. then i updated to windows 10. and downloaded some games i cant seem to play these games with my dedicated graphics. the nvidia control panel wont open and the drivers always fail to update.
Any guidance is apreciated

Try this tool - http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html .
And then make clean installation from http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/87791 .
I'm running the same Laptop, everything works tiptop.

i managed to get the nvidia control panel to work and selected high performance and even then i get 1 fps in games like dying light and shadow of mordor

Have you done clean drivers installation?
Try to set each game to work with dedicated GPU, not only main profile.

I pretty sure, there is a problem with your drivers.
