SSD not detected in Sata3 port

Hi all. I've had this issue for sometime now.

When I received a replacement mobo from Intel over Xmas (DZ77BH-55K), I also bought a new SSD as my boot drive: SanDisk Extreme PRO 240 GB SATA III 2.5 Inch Internal SSD (SDSSDXPS-240G-G25).

At first, a simple process of reinstalling Win7 was an issue as the SSD wasn't detected in the Bios at all. So I installed with the SSD connected to the Sata2 port. When I confirmed the install succeeded, I then reconnected to the Sata3 port and again, the Sandisk was undetected.

Since then, I've tried everything. New cables, drivers, different settings etc. After no resolution, I've simply spent months persisting with my SSD connected to the Sata2 port, considering the only real resolution was a new mobo and CPU (due the the LGA 1155 connection), something I cannot afford at present.

I recently upgraded to Win 10, and had hoped perhaps newer drivers may resolve the issue, but alas, still no joy. Plus, with my mobo being unsupported by Intel now, it's unlikely there will ever be new drivers from their end.

Anywho, if anyone can advise me further, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have 3 HDDs in total, plus the optical, and there are all detected using the Sata3 ports, apart from the SSD. I had hoped the upgrade to Win10 may have resolved the issue. I'm guessing it's a compatibility issue, but having done many searches, this occurs often with other brands.

Intel and Sandisk seem to be unconcerned, although Intel had offered a refund for the Mobo they replaced rather than keep the one I have now. But that would still mean a new mobo AND CPU.

I can't recall if I formatted the SDD prior to the initial Win7 install, but it is something that I usually do. I'll check through that search you posted, thanks again.

Update: So I've read mention it could be a power issue, so I've had my Desktop open this afternoon, removing and swapping power and data cables, all to no avail. There just doesn't seem to be a mechanical answer, and perhaps it boils down to Intel ending support for the mobo and not delivering new drivers to support the new SSD.

I guess I have no other option but to save up for a new Mobo and CPU. My only issue is, with already upgrading to Win10, it's likely I'll have to pay for a full version of that too.

Anyway, thanks for the help, guys!
