Help with LOUD fan

I have a Gateway LX68101-01 desktop. When I try to turn the power on all I get is a very loud fan noise. No beep or anything on the screen.could this be the power supply? The motherboard? any HELP with this would be great.

would you have any information on a motherboard I am assuming that it would be an upgrade only because the desktop was manufactured in 2009

If you're gunna upgrade your motherboard you need a windows installation disk. The motherboard socket is LGA775. Sorry I didn't find any exact model. I don't think you need to reinstall windows if you find the exact motherboard identical to yours. Try opening it up and looking on the board for names and model.
The you don't have to reinstall windows is a guess.

I do know some information. Motherboard for Gateway LX6810-01 MCP7A-D System Board P/N: MBG5409005. chipset manufacturer is intel socket type is LGA 755 form factor is ATX memory is DDR2 graphics card type is integrated hard drive interface is SATA brand gateway model mbg5409005. When I went looking to purchase this motherboard I could not find for the LGA755. Do you know anything about this?
