Need a new CPU cooler so I can overclock

Currently I have an i5 2500k CPU, with a Gtx Nvidia 970 superclocked. Obviously there is a bottleneck here and I need to overclock my CPU. Unfortunately I have a stock cooler heatsink on my CPU, so it is very hard to remove and cannot be overclocked. I just need to know if I can buy a cooler that will allow me to overclock to 4.4GHz or 4.5 without removing the heatsink, although if that is not possible, feel free to suggest coolers where I would need to remove the heatsink. Sorry if this is worded badly, wrote on phone in a rush. Cheers.

My setup is ok. why?

I have good cable managment, 2 times replaced thermal paste mx-4 (just to make sure it is not the problem).
On rendering I have almost 74ºC.

Ordered monday the H110I GTX for better cooling and for OC it to maybe 4.7... Will see...

Well you need to get your story straight here. You say you're getting 76*c at stock speeds with the evo when playing a game, but your bio says your running at .4-.8Ghz overclock. Do you manually do your OC in the bios or do you let the bios do it? Most likely you are overvolting the cpu which is giving you the higher temps.

Anyway make sure you set the high temp limit in the bios so when the pump fails on the H110I you dont kill your computer.

Yep the 212 evo handles overclocks like a dream for running on AIR I had my fx 6100 running at get this 4.5 GHZ before I upgraded to my 4690k so if your having temp issues with a 212 look at the installation or thermal compound for 30 bucks there is no equal to the 212 .....

I'm getting fps lag in games when I shouldn't be. I have also been told that my CPU would bottleneck my GPU.

Yes you will have to remove the heatsink, most likely you will have to remove the motherboard as well to put a backer plate on the back side of the motherboard.

As for an OC, its hard to say. Every cpu is a little different some will need more voltage, some less. On a safe guess i would say mid 4's on the safe side.
