Anything from Asus/BenQ that is 144Hz is a good monitor. However I slightly prefer the Asus ones as to me they have slightly better color reproduction. The VG248QE is what I have and I cannot complain about it, 24", 144Hz, 1080p, 1ms response time. I use it for Video Editing, Photo Editing, and Gaming and it's great for all of the categories.

As for FPS on minecraft you will be hitting ~1000 but don't quote me on that it could be more but I can't remember. But as someone said it's going to be more FPS than the speed your monitor can refresh at, even if it's 144Hz you can still only see 144 FPS.
