Everywhere, I have read that GTX 970 can handle any game at ultra settings on a 1920x1080 reso. But is it really true in case of The Crew?

Mostly, the game has many FPS dip points due to a sloppy engine (and most were introduced during monthly patches and never fixed), but for the most part you should be able to hit 60fps. I actually find the game runs quite well with DSR @ 1440p, infact the only times it drops from 60fps at this resolution are at the same places it does at 1080p as well. With the Wild Run expansion this fall it is getting a new engine, so hopefully they sort out the dips and finally get working mirrors, seriously what racing game after 2008 can't get mirrors to freaking work.

Well, if you're willing to pay the extra bit, it will beat the 970 no problem and it'll also be good for gaming for a long time.

The r9 390 does not straight up outperform a GTX 970. They trade blows from game to game. In the end it's personal preference between the 4 extra gigs of Vram on the 390 that you will probably never use and Nvidia's superior drivers and support. If the the 390 is 1.6x more than a 970 in his country that is in not worth the money.

That's funny, in every bench and test I've seen that is absolutely not the case. The 970 performs just as well and sometimes better than the 390, all the while using less power and generating less heat.

I can post a TON of links that prove you wrong.

They are very close cards, and I will go as far as to say that the GTX 970 will do better in the future because Nvidia has a brighter future.

Now if I was to game on higher that 1440p resolutions I would definitely choose the 390 because of the higher Vram, but anything under 4k and those 8 gigs of Vram are kind of pointless really.

Both AMD and Nvidia have bright futures. The Radeon Series GPU's are just better in my opinion. Aswell as others think that AMD GPU's are better. Thats your opinion.

There is your opinion and there are facts. Fact is nvidia is doing much much better than AMD as a company, hence the brighter future. They can afford to devote more to research and better producing technology. Fact is that in the past and most recent Steam surveys more than 60%~ of users run an Nvidia GPU, the other 40%~ is divided between AMD and Intel. If what you claim is true that AMD has the superior product then why is Nvidia a bigger company? Why do more people buy Nvidia products? I'll tell you why, because instead of re making the same damn video card line year after year Nvidia actually pushes the technology forward.

AMD is getting rekt by Intel on the CPU front and by Nvidia on the GPU front in both sales and innovation. Team red is just not the smart option these days, they are behind as a company in the PC world. This may change in the future, but as it stands I would rather pay a little extra for an Nvidia card and feel secure about my product.
