Question about additional storage

Currently I have two drives, a HDD and a SSD. I want to buy another HDD and put it into this computer as extra storage (as I've been finding myself running out of storage lately).

My question is whether I'd be able to install this and if there are any complications. I've been noticing that there aren't many ports onto the back of the PSU but there are extra connectors on the cables that hook to the HDD/SSD. Are those cables able to connect multiple hard drives? Is that recommended?

Also is there a difference in which RAID I put the HDD to? I've noticed many different slots but I'm unsure of which ones I should use.

Solution
The answer to your question is Yes! You can connect multiple ssd's or hard disk drives to one power supply cable. Drives use very very little power compared to cpu's and gpu's. It is okay to do that. That's why those power cables have multiple connectors. I have two Samsung solid state drives and one optical drive all connected to the same power supply cable.

I do not understand your question about RAID, HDD and slots. Could you please explain a little more?

Oh so I don't really have to worry about my power then? I was always worried I might not have enough power for my stuff because I have 550W PSU though I guess I only need more if I wanted to SLI two cards right?

Actually nevermind about the RAID stuff. I misunderstood the slots on my mobo. Thanks a lot!

No, you do not have to worry about extra power for the ssd.

Video card manufacturers sometimes recommend power supply wattage for their models. The wattage can vary anywhere between a small 300 watt power supply for a basic pc with a GT610 video card and 700 watts for a system with a high end card like the Titan Z. Adding additional video cards for SLI or CrossFire mode will require some additional power. It just depends.
