-Intel i5 4690K

-8GB RAM (2x4)

And one last question, would they need a Hyper 212 Evo?

Solution
The chart puts the R9 390 above, it has the colour scheme you wish also. To put it more into perspective, the GTX970 requires less power and runs cooler and is a bit better at overclocking. The R9 390 has higher VRAM, wider bandwidth. At 1080p both cards as I said are rather equal, trading blows to put it like that, so at that resolution it comes down to brand preference or price. At higher resolution, 1440p and up the R9 390 is the clear winner. MSI are good too, they make quality coolers and GPUs. As for the cooler, I think you will be fine without it. The R9 290/290X run very hot, but the architectural improvements in the R9 390/390X improve the temperatures noticeably. The GTX970 still runs cooler though, but there is no longer such...

To be honest we could go on forever, one question though, what resolution will you be playing on? At 1080p they are more or less neck in neck, but at higher resolution the R9's higher VRAM and wider bandwidth gives it the edge.

Go with the EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACXhttp://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-256bit-Gra.... The GTX 970 performs better than the R9 380 in nearly every scenario. The EVGA SSC model is also the best all around performer. It's runs quite silent, runs very cool, and also comes clocked very high out of the box so you won't need to do much overclocking. EVGA also has the best support and warranty in the industry. ;)

Yes, 1080p will be the ress, so am guessing its all down to personal preference and experience between the two companies then?

Also, take a look the the graph, the R9 380 is highlighted, not the R9 390. The R9 390 sits at the top.

While 8GB is as of now too much for 1080p, the demand for VRAM is getting higher and higher, and you may require more than 4GB (or 3.5) in the future. As for the colour scheme, do you prefer MSI? ASUS also has a black and red cooler.

This is the ASUS model, if you are interested: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/STRIXR9390DC3OC8GD5GAMING/

It has a lower clock, by 10MHz, anda lower memory clock, by 100MHz but the cooler might suit you better if you need to minimise the noise. If you won't overclock the and care more about performance, the MSI is the clear choice.

My original plan was to go with the R9 390 yes, but then I found out that none of the retailers neer me (Norway) Will have it In-Stock for more then 30+ days, so that means I might just go with the GTX as it is also a bit cheaper for me. Anyway, Thank You very much for your time and help!! Have a pleasant rest of your day :D

If you go for the GTX970, I could help you more if you wish, maybe find another model that suits the colour scheme. But yeah the GTX970 is a great choice, and a great card, you will get your money's worth.

The only cards with the desired colour scheme are MSI and ASUS, ASUS though uses a darker shade of red it looks like only on the fans. The clocks on the MSI card are also better. Do you mind a monochromatic scheme, just black, or it must have red? If it must have red, MSI is the better choice.

And one advantage I forgot to mention for the GTX970, while I use and prefer AMD, the software you can use from Nvidia is great, like Shadowplay, I don't think there's an AMD counterpart to that. Also the driver being older for the GTX970, it may be more stable. The R9 300 do have good drivers, but they are still rather new, even if they are really just improvements over the 200 series.

To be honest I think it will be enough. That Twin Frozr cooler is one of the best you can find and the GTX970 runs quite cool by itself. Try it without, monitor the temperatures for a day or two, and if they're too high go for another cooler.
