Can't validate Windows 8.1 in clean install.

I'm really hoping someone can help me, I've read other threads, FAQs etc, but I can't find a solution to my problem. I bought a product key for Windows 8.1 Pro OEM in Kinguin. I formatted my hard drive, installed Windows 8, it asked for my key during installation and accepted it, but once it installed I can't get it to validate, it says "This key didn't work, please check it and try again, or try a different key".
At the time it gave me the option to contact customer support, I chose to do so by chat. The representative told me I'm supposed to go back to my previous version of Windows, but I don't have a previous version of Windows that's legitimate.
Now when I try to re-enter the key it just gives me the error message but no option to contact by phone, chat, nothing. I'm stuck, please help me.

Solution
It looks like it's saying it's been blocked. The person you bought it from likely sold the same key to multiple people.

This is why we recommend against buying from grey-market sources like Kinguin.
