What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit?

I was about to type up a long answer but its best to read this:

Because a bigger number is ALWAYS better! ;)

Seriously, the only reason to do 32 is because you have an old old old 32 bit processor, you will have to go back 10 years+

I used to say, if you have to run some legacy 32 bit software but even that is no longer true as one can run a 32 bit VM machine on a 64 host these days.
