Which one is the best between the msi r9 290x lightning 4GB and the sapphire R9 390 NITRO 8GB.
both cards are at the same price.
so which card is better.

These cards are extremely similar although the R9 390 is slightly better :)
The R9 390 has 2x more memory, higher effective memory clock speed, and higher memory clock speed (it also takes less power to run).
The R9 290X just has SLIGHTLY better performance in a couple areas, not better enough to make a difference.

The AMD 300 series is just a rebrand of their 200 series cards.

That said, the 390X is a proper comparison against the 290X.

The 8GB on the 390 Nitro will never be fully utilised since the chip will run out of steam long before... that is you will get choppy FPS before the game runs out of vram.
