Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-3770 3.4ghz (non k)
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 660 1.5gb (no ti)
Ram: 12GB
Hard Drive: 2TB
OS: Windows 10
PSU: Dell 460Watts

I made a previous thread but I have slightly new questions.

Its this PSU

Corsair Professional Series AX 760W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-106-CS

I'm gonna upgrade my Graphics card & PSU and I think theirs a problem with the depth and the maximum depth is 165mm for the PSU

Another dumb question. I'm talking like ultra dumb, the dumb that even dumb can understand but i somehow cant lol

When i'm checking the size for certain PSU's. They sometimes label what each size stand for.

I understand that (H)=Height & (W)=Width but (L)=Length right? Would that be considered the same as Depth? or does Depth not matter? I'm really confused.

I found that out from Dells Community Support from a user named Andrew.A.Rusell.
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/t/19602879

I plan to ask there as well but i just want to REALLY be sure which is why I'm here lol I'm a SUPER NOOB!

The graphics card is going to be either a GTX 970 or a GTX 980. Gonna be playing at 1080p so i camn play Wither 3!

So! Will this work fine with My Dell PC?

I accidentally picked k0888 as the solution though I liked his suggestion also. Meant to pick madmatt30

But thanks to everyone. You made it it MUCH clearer now.

EDIT:

Just to clarify/ Matt. Was the picture you posted an actual Dell X8500? Dumb question I know.

Yup mate ,off the dell forums .

Its this card

Which you can see is an awfully big sob.

In all honesty in your case Id be looking at a blower model ,yourccase has limitited cooling & you'd be better exhausting GPU heat straight out IMO.
Itll be a little noisier than twin fan but ultimately will run cooler .

For that (& I know its white & all) the Asus 970 turbo is prob your best option & its also pretty cheap ,£255 at ocuk.

@madmatt30

I was going for the GTX 970 MSI Version.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-259-MS

it has Twin Fans

I'm a noob so what do you mean by "In all honesty in your case Id be looking at a blower model ,yourccase has limitited cooling & you'd be better exhausting GPU heat straight out IMO.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Could you eleborate. I'm a super noob you see.

Twni fan open shroud cards dont exhaust the hot air properly - 80% of it stays in the case.
In a roomy case with a couple of 120mm exhausts its not a problem.

you have a compact prebuilt dell though with a lone 92mm exhaust, although the 970 is a fairly cool running card in gpu terms at least it can still hit 75c fairly easily - you can expect 10-15c higher case & cpu temps with it than you would with the single fan asus.

The asus has a completely sealed shroud, all the air is pushed inside the shroud straight out of the back of the case - it acts as its own exhaust system

Youd think a twin fan card would automatically run cooler but I can bet you 100% it wont in your case.
Youll lose about 2% performance compared to the msi & it might run slightly noisier but itll also run a hell of a lot cooler.
