Help powering a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx980ti

Ive purchased a gtx980ti (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125787) and my power supply is (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018) since the 980ti needs 2 8 pin connections and my psu has more than enough power but only has 1 6 pin and 1 6+2 pin, would it be ok to buy (http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Express-Power-Adapter-PCIEX68ADAP/dp/B001TK3TJY) and have it connected? Im a noob when it comes to psu's so any help would be greatly appreciated!

That should be fine. There is enough redundancy in each of your 12V lines to make up the difference.

They rate each 18 gauge wire at 75W. However, an 18 gauge wire can actually handle about 120W at 12V

That is pretty old and low quality PSU(it is sufficient), i wouldn't run such expensive system/GPU on it.

I see, well i was looking at new psu's so if you wouldnt mind suggesting one that would fit (http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define...) that case that would be so helpful, also i was looking at (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) psu wise, cant figure out if it would fit or not.
