I'm thinking about upgrading my mob which is currently a old dell Dell Inc. 0FM586 (Socket 775) atm..I want to stick with my processor (Q6700) since its decent but would like to upgrade my mob with something that is compatible with it...ddr2 ram is expensive and would like to find one that is possibly ddr3...is there one out there, if so which would be best to get... that is within range of 100$ ?

Got here by pure accident. When you ask about Dell based PC, please state so, because Dell has different rules for building and supporting its products.

You motherboard model 0FM586, which is Foxconn G33M02 can be found in Inspiron 530, 530s and Vostro 200, 400 Systems, so which one is yours?
Also, back to the question, those Dell...

Thank you for your reply, I had mentioned DDR2 is getting old is becoming more expensive with less performance...my mother board is starting to get old as well ive had it for over 7-8 years and looking for better performance for gaming at the least ive had issues most of the time ...Ive read many times as well as experienced myself that sometimes switching mob doesn't mess with windows (sometimes). Also my mob can only take 4gb of ram...so all in all just looking for another motherboard that can support my cpu. Also possibly overclocking cpu but i would need to buy a cpu fan but that is a entirely new subject.

Also, back to the question, those Dell models came with 2 motherboards:
G33M02 supports up to Core 2 Duo processors (the e8600 is the fastest compatible cpu)
DG33M03, supports up to Core 2 Quad processors.

So, sorry, no upgrades in your case.
