I have been running an SLI system for a while and I'm really enjoying it. I have heard a lot of talk about Directx 12's capabilities. It sounds like you can combine any number of graphics cards whether or not they are the same card. If I understand that means cards don't have to run in SLI to be recognized.
If I remove the SLI bridge from my graphics cards, will I get a performance boost in my gaming on graphically demanding titles? If not, is there any other configuration for me to receive a performance boost with the use of directx 12?

water cooled i7 3770k Overclocked 4.2 GHZ
MSI Twin Frozr Nvidia 760 4GB Edition (I have 2 of these currently running in SLI)
16 GB RAM
MOBO: Z77-MPOWER
