I know there are threads about this, by my issue might be different because I wasn't able to figure it out.

I have HP EliteBook 8540w. It has an upgrade bay for a second hdd. The specs say it supports RAID 0 and RAID 1. I installed a new hdd. Checked to make sure it recognizes it, it does. Went to BIOS, changed to RAID, created RAID 0 volume, everything is fine, until I start installing windows, and this message shows up:computer's hardware may not support booting this disk.

I was able to boot from upgrade bay and from main bay, but only a non-raid drive. So I know it's able to boot from upgrade bay, but for some reason when I'm running RAID 0 it's telling me it won't be able to boot.

I couldn't find any RAID drivers for this laptop, tried everything in BIOS. Any suggestions?

Can I use the drive that I booted windows on? When I try to created stripped volume, it's grayed out, it won't let me, probably because Im running windows of of it. I probably need to run windows of a third drive, like external, then I can created stripped volume.
