On most to all prebuilt computers from dell, hp, lenovo etc lock down the bios so that overclocking is not allowed and or capable. Other than that, the components used in said pre builts tend to be below par for overclocking, and some times even expansion add ons.

Even if u could overclock with that system, im pretty sure most would tell u not to do it unless u replace, the power supply, and motherboard and then since the case is probably proprietary, the case too, and sure the cpu cooler as the stock one should not be used when overclocking. Once u replace all that, might as well just buy a new system.

Better go to the Dell web site and see if that cpu is compatible with your Optiplex.

This is the list of supported CPUs for Optiplex 755:

3.00GHz Yorkfield Quad Core 3.00GHz, Q9650, 12MB
2.83GHz Yorkfield Quad Core 2.83GHz, Q9550, 12MB, 1333FSB, E0
2.66GHz Yorkfield Quad Core 2.66GHz, Q9400, 6MB, 1333FSB, R0
2.66GHz Kentsfield Quad Core 2.66GHz, Q6700, 8MB, 1066FSB, G0
2.40GHz Kentsfield Quad Core 2.40GHz, Q6600, 8MB, 1066FSB

I don't see 9505 here, so you can find out by trial and error if it will work.
