I have an issue with my cd/dvd drive anyone know how to fix?

Okay i got a new disc drive and when i put a disk in it, when i try to click it to watch the dvd it opens up the files on the dvd, anyone have any idea how to fix? here is a screenshot: https://gyazo.com/dce68c06662c67690d0091275bc8281f and when i click it this is what happens : https://gyazo.com/33cfcc2827b55d8d09d6b42251c15db6 how cna i get it to play the dvd?

You need a dedicated video player software which supports DVD playback.

This codec pack also comes with media player classic, and you will be able to play it:

i downloaded the standard pack but it still shows up how it did before, i can access the dvd files

Where there isnt a disc in it it says dvd drive

You need to start the windows media player classic and open the DVD from there. Either that, or try right-clicking the DVD icon in windows and see what options do you get (is Play among them?). Just double clicking it won't do anything except list the files.

No play just open, although vlc fixed it for me, is that codec pack safe? because it didnt do much

It is safe. And basically provided you with video playing codecs that windows lack anyway. VLC also contains most of them, but no harm done here.

Okay cause the whole reason i bought the drive was to clean install windows cause i got a trojan that disabled internet acces and cmd and removed my administrator dont wanna go through the hassle again
