What will be the Best i5 processor for Gaming with GTX 960 (ASUS Strix DC2OC-2GD5) among 4440, 4570, 4590, 4670 and 4690???
.
Will AMD FX 8320 or 8350 be a equally Good option for current and future games considering multithreading???
.
If Intel, is it ok to settle for B85 or go for H97 not considering the additional I/O and other ports???
.
No Overclocking and expecting a future proof PC...

Future proof is not imaginary, it is true that you are more future proofed by going with a more recent gen rather than an older gen.

Locked Intel with an H series motherboard is good for budget.

In modern games yes, AMD is fine. And in older games BOTH AMD and Intel will give you well over 60 FPS on a good GPU. They are so close it won't matter.

FX 6300 stock runs most games like an i5 4440
FX 6300 or 6350 overclocked can push a GTX 970 or 980 very well
FX 8320 or 8350 will need better cooling and a stronger VRM on the motherboard. But these will run neck in neck with an i5 4690k, stock and/or overclocked on both CPUs.

Overall you're looking at a 3-5% performance difference for a 50-100% cost premium. Intel is a little faster in games, but not worth the price hike IMO.

Saving some on the CPU allows you to get a much better GPU, which is far more important to your gaming experience.

Here's an example of a very demanding game on an OCd FX 6350 with a GTX 970:

On a good build, 4.5-4.6 is pretty common on FX 6300, 4.7-4.8 fairly common on FX 6350. AMD games just fine.

Actually i5 3570k is still one of the best & recommended Gaming Processor in these days. Once you tune it up, it will smoke almost 90% of all AMD Processors in existence.

If you want a future proof Gaming Processor its either:

Intel: i5 4690
AMD: FX8320E

The difference of the two in Gaming is noticeable but both processors will run modern games these days pretty well.

Only a bit. But you want future proofing right? Then get the Highest i5 you can get.

In app benchmarks perhaps, but not so much in gaming.

Like I said above, GPU is far more important than CPU in gaming.

AND AMD and Intel are so close it's not worth it wasting your money on a high end CPU for gaming.

Another example ...watch it for more than 30 seconds and you'll see once everything is loaded into RAM they are nearly identical in performance.

There are very few games where CPU matters, and even then, pretty much any i5 or AMD FX 6 core...or better...will run it well.

Ah, well the clock speed is different yes. But performance will actually see little difference in games. And that's the info I'm trying to get across to the OP.

For an 8350 to hit 4.7Ghz without throttling you need a decent motherboard and a decent CPU cooler.

The i5 4440 can run games just as fast with no overclocking, on a cheap H81 motherboard using the stock cooler. All while using about 50w less power.

It depends on the game. "Demanding" can mean either gpu or cpu, if it's cpu demanding (minecraft, skyrim etc) the amd will suffer. If the game is gpu bound then while an fx 8350 can keep up so can a much cheaper i3 in most cases. If I show a game run of a title that's gpu bound, does it mean the i3 is a fantastic gaming cpu? Or just that it wasn't as heavily taxed? It also doesn't account for the frequent 20-40fps framedrops compared to intel that amd's cpus are more prone to experiencing which can disrupt game play. In games like witcher 3, only in some scenes does the 8350 keep up with an i5. In most others it falls down well below it. Other games like arma 3 which are still heavily single threaded, the i5 no doubt trumps the 8350 by a good margin. It's a matter of a cpu which does ok in some games or stays at the top in all games. Which is expected, the fx costs less and performs accordingly.
