Converting a mbr drive with OS into a functional gpt drive?

I spent a frustrating amount of time researching this online and attempts doing it and it hasn’t been working.

Has anyone had experience doing this and succeeding?

I tried different apps like easeus and aomei and they haven’t been working.

They both have this “convert mbr to gpt” feature and it hasn’t worked.

Aomei also had this “migrate os” feature which I haven’t tested yet, but the simple descriptions saids it was able to transfer OS and other installed software to a new hd.

Now I don’t know how much this differs from just cloning a drive…

Moreover I also tried “sysprep” , limited info on thid but doesn’t seem this would adapt a mbr drive to a gpt one. I think this just work when you switch between two same partition system motherboard(mbr to mbt, gpt to gpt).

Before I figure I need to transition mbr to gpt and have it work so I don’t have to reinstall os and all app which is inconvenient and a waste of time.

But when you have one drive that mbr and a motherboard that’s uefi(gpt), how do you transition and make it work?

Doesn’t seem those IT companies like aomei and easeus made a feature that easily solves this.

They said when mbr hit the 2tb mark then it goes unsupported, so you need to transition to gpt at that point. I can envision a lot of headaches when this transition don’t work and you need to reinstall all the apps and OS again. Well the other types of data like picture, text, video and so on can be copied over. And theres certain app data that embedded deep in the OS file system thats hard to locate and copy.

Has anyone had similar trouble and found a solution? There are powerful apps that takes a while to install a piece and you add them up and that a lot of time.

I think it is retarded to have apps provide “convert mbr to gpt” feature and the os won’t work. So whats the feature good for then? Just for converting everything else over? that just seem so useless and not solving the big inconveniences.

so whats the point of even having such a feature ,"convert mbr to gpt " and vice versa? you only convert non- os datum?

plus i thought IT developers were smarter than this. to create this big inconvenience for users, is this inconvenience really unavoidable in terms of IT development?

so you need to start from scratch installing new os and apps in gpt drive? a smooth transition where the os works would've been good.

you haven't tried this personally with those IT apps i take it, from my experiences, the datum still there, looks same as other partition system , its just the os wouldn't work, thats all. didn't seem like a reformat cuz if those were the cases, the drive supposed to be emptied after procedure.
