So I have Windows 7 installed on a really slow Western Digital Caviar Green hard drive and I would like to buy an SSD and put windows on that and I was wondering is that possible and is it hard? I'm not too good with computers so I'm not sure whether I can do this. Anybody can help me??

Solution
2 options:

1. Clean install on the new drive.
This requires you to have the install media and the license key for the OS, and all your other applications. You will be starting from a clean slate

2. Clone from the old drive to the new drive.
This requires that the new SSD be larger than the current total used space on the existing HDD.
This is also somewhat more fail-prone than a clean install.

Software that can do this? Macrium Reflect, Easus Todo, Acronis Trueimage, Casper. All either free or a free trial.

Solution
I have used Acronis TrueImage several times for this purpose, and to go from one SSD to a bigger one a couple of times. I've never had any problems. Make sure your system is working in AHCI (rather than IDE) mode to access your drives.
