I'm having a really really really hard time with this thing. My friend just got it and I thought I would install everything for him since he doesn't know much about computers in general. I tried making boot usb, dvd on both Windows(Transmac and PowerISO) and Disk Utility on the laptop. But whatever I do I can't get it installed. It's an installation of Lion 10.7. Booting with option won't work (only recovery shows up), holding c won't work, inserting the usb after start up manager shows won't work.
Please help me :s

Where did you get the install media from? You need either a retail copy of Lion or the disks that were supplied with the laptop. You could always try eBay, but make sure that you buy disks intended for your exact model. Do you have another Mac? If not what do you mean by saying you tried making a boot dvd using Disk Utility on the laptop. I read your post as saying there is no OS on the laptop. You can't make an install disk with Windows; really you need proper Apple media.

Update: Note that not all A1181s can run Lion; it depends upon the full model number and the amount of RAM installed.

Given that you said Disk Utility is available on the laptop, the way I've interpreted the question is that you have another older version of OS X installed. If this is the case, either (a) the laptop won't run 10.7.x because it simply isn't supported as McHenryB said, or (b) you're encountering the "waiting until hell freezes over" problem occurring with pirated media. If the latter isn't the case, you can download OS X from the App store and follow instructions here: <http://www.macworld.com/article/1161069/make_a_bootable_lion_installer.html>.

A1181 is series of (Black and White) Thermoplastic Case MacBooks built between 2006 and 2009, could be a core duo or a core2 duo; the earlier models won't run Lion, the later ones will; find-out what you have first, then select an OS that will run on it.
