I'm going to buy i5-4690k processor which is a part of Haswell refresh series. Kindly tell me a motherboard which can support Haswell Refresh series CPUs out of the box and without new Bios update.

I have selected this two -
1. Asus Z97-K
2. Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H

But the problem is I'm not sure if they can run Haswell refresh CPUs out of the box and without new Bios update.

Solution

Every Z97 board can support Haswell Refresh and Devils Canyon right out of the box guaranteed according to Intel.

Asus and Gigabyte are...

Wow, the Gaming 7 got cheap. I remember it was $180-$190 when I saw it last.

Yea it is cheap at the moment. I noticed the z97-a also dropped in price a bit, just the other day it was around $150-160 (which seemed a bit high). Not sure if it has anything to do with shaking things up because of the newly releasing z170 motherboards or not but prices have been fluctuating quite a bit on various parts. Or maybe because we're in a lull between u.s. holiday 'sale' events so prices are mostly leveling back out from their long discounted prices. It's a bit like the stock market at the moment.

Wow.

Funny that it went that high because I remember buying my Z97-A in December last year and I think I got it for $130.

Bro are sure it will support i5-4690k out of the box with F2 Bios ? Because on "CPU Support Page" Gigabyte says I need F5 version of Bios to run Haswell Refresh CPUs.. And does Bios update really matter to support little newer CPUs ?

In case I'm able to find and buy 1.1 revision of it do I still have to update the Bios

Also among Asus and Gigabyte which is better for overall stability and quality ?

Asus and Gigabyte are pretty much equal. Go with Asus for the high end boards or if you want easier overclocking, go with Gigabyte's middle end boards for better VRM capacity.
