I can't browse, but I can Ping

I have the strangest problem on one of my PCs. I can ping from a command prompt, but not browse. I have tried multiple browsers, changed DNS servers, release and renew. New patch cord, Flushed my DNS, tried a different port on the router. I tried a system restore to jump back a few days, I even reset my router back to factory defaults just to rule it out. I can surf just fine on all my other wireless devices. I even hooked my laptop up directly to the router with a patch cord and it works fine. I can't even goto my router with this PC if I get into the browser and type in the ip address of the router. Its clearly talking to the router. Its giving it an ip address and like I said I can ping things like google.com and facebook.com. I have done virus and malware scans as well and they all come up clean.

Does anybody got any more ideas????

Try something simple. Bypass the router. If that allows you to get online (get webpages), then it's the router. If you still can only ping and can't load webpages, then it's usually either a firewall on the computer or a virus/spyware.
If it is the router, for example, reset the router and reset it back up.

A very simple question, what happened between it worked and now doesn't?

Ping actually uses a very specific part of TCP/IP, it's usually good enough to confirm connectivity but it's not 100% Godspell.

For example, a firewall can broke other types of traffic but let ping goes through.

Hi. I was facing this same issue and here is how I resolved it:
Go to msconfig from the run command and then check the box "Hide all microsoft services"
Then click on disable all, click RESTART.
You should now be able to browse.

Before I did this, I had also reset internet explorer from internet options as well reset google chrome also. Though that had not solved my issue, but I am not sure wjether that is a prerequisite for the issue getting solved.

Hope this helped. None of the other replies worked for me.
