Hello, I am building a computer and I was wondering if a Intel DX58SO LGA 1366 Intel X58 motherboard would work well for gaming and overclocking with my Intel Core I7 920 CPU and AMD HD 7870 GPU. If it doesn't work what would you recommend. Keep in mind that I also have a heatsink fan for overclocking.

Is very good mobo :)
If you have also solid PSU and CPU cooler you can OC if you not sure please tell me models and brands :)

About OC

About OC your CPU up to 4Ghz.

And here easy setting to start at 3.6Ghz :

Here's what I would recommend for the settings:

1. Set the BCLK from 133 to 180

2. Change the CPU voltage to 1.35v

3. Change the Memory Voltage from to 1.7v

4. Change the VTT (or QPI/DRAM) to 1.25v

5. Change the Memory multiplier to 8x

6. Manually set the memory timings to 9-10-9-24 (leave the rest of the memory configuration settings as they are)

This way you would have your...

This way you would have your i7 920 running at 3.6Ghz and your RAM running at 1440mhz

If everything is successful, then you can start to lower the CPU voltage from 1.35v in small increments until the computer is no longer stable.
