I'm new to the whole computer thing, and I'm not very tech savvy so I apologize if this is a silly question. I'm also new to the site so forgive me if I don't fully know what to do around here. Anyway here's my problem. I just purchased a new msi laptop with windows 8.1 already installed on the HDD, I also got a Samsung SSD for it. I need to figure out how to trabser my OS to my SSD without screwing everything up. Any ideas? I don't have either product yet, they are still in the mail, but I want to do the transfer before I go saving a bunch of stuff to the HDD.

You can get free software online to do so. You'll need a SATA to USB cable, unless your device has two SATA connections already.

You should be fine with a new installation being cloned, however cloning is very hit and miss so don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

The laptop has one SATA connection and one MSATA. From what I understand the Samsung SSD comes with software, I'd assume to do the cloning. I probably should've waited until I got everything and could mess with it before posting this. Regardless thank you for the speedy reply.
