i currently have corsair vs 650w

Those power supplies are fairly low quality. We recommend a higher quality power supply for gaming systems.

A Power Supply List is maintained here on Tomshardware.com that breaks down the power supplies into 5 tiers. We recommend only buying Tier 1 or 2 power supplies from this list. In addition to what is on that list, I would recommend any Seasonic or XFX power supply as being tier 1 or 2 as well.

Corsair VS series power supplies are rated on the power supply list as Tier 4. Not suitable for use in any gaming system.

Please check that list before telling people some power supply is a good unit. There are reasons for having that list.
