Hi guys, first post here. I decided to ask this here because I've just read this thread;

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/306437-28-single-rail-multiple-rails-eternal-question-answered

This has helped make things a bit clearer for me, but because Im unsure of the 'true' technical specs of my PSU (concerning the 12v rail), I need you guys to clarify just what my PSU can, and can't do please.

So my current system;

-1440x900 monitor
-OCZ ModXstreme Pro 500w PSU
-ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
-Phenom II 955 (3.2ghz/C3)
-2x 4gb Ram
-XFX HD5750
-2x 5400rpm HDD's
-DVD-rw

My PSU has 2 6-pin connectors, both listed on the back of the PSU as 18A each (36A total?). Reading the above thread makes me think I'll be ok with getting a R7 265. But I'm not sure exactly how my PSU is constructed. Reviews seem like it's a well built, decent entry-level gaming PSU. But then I read people saying it's junk also.

There seems to be some info here, but I'm not savvy enough to understand, maybe others can discern this?

Can I upgrade to a R7 265, or should I just settle for the GTX 750 ti instead?
Many thanks,

Adey
